These items are supplied by the hirer at no additional charge if required. Ensure that your tow ball is free to have stabilizers fitted.

Restricted Areas

The "Jayco Manual Handbook" describes accurately where the various types of vans can and cannot go. In short, "on road" means bitumen only,  other than short graded dirt access roads to camping areas or national parks, no longer than 2 klms and at a speed of 10 klms per hour.  Discretion and common sense would need to be applied here. "Off Road" means all other designated major dirt roads and sundry roads, other than 4WD tracks labeled "4WD only". All caravans owned by TowTal Touring Pty Ltd are not to be taken off road under any circumstances and failure to comply will result in full loss of Security Bond and subsequent cleaning charges. Roads excluded for caravans such as the Tanami Track, Gibb River Road, Canning Stock Route and Sturt Stoney Desert areas, should not be travelled with any caravan or camper trailer owned by Towtal Touring Caravan Hire. Caravans and Camper Trailers are not to be taken across swollen creeks or rivers regardless.

Braking Systems & Electrical Connections

All vans have electric brakes, and a mechanical override system. It is not necessary to have electric brakes fitted to you vehicle, but It is the hiree's responsibility to have an electric brake controller fitted to their vehicle, should it be deemed necessary by TowTal Touring Pty Ltd.  All vans have a standard seven pin flat plug. TowTal Touring Pty Ltd will supply the necessary adaptor's should your vehicle one.

Loading and Vehicle compatibility

Specs vary from tow bar manufacturers, vehicle manufacturers and road safely groups. We cannot hire to the owner of a vehicle that does not comply. We can assist with loading techniques but the ultimate responsibility is with the hiree. Always check the individual compliance plate on your vehicle's tow bar to make sure the weight capability is applicable to the van you intend to hire, as sometimes the heaviest duty tow bar has not been fitted.
